More Hogswatch News!

Keith says Happy Hogswatch!

The Hogfather is coming on Saturday, 11th December, to bring you some Hogswatch cheer. And there will be a few more surprising people joining us on the day. Chat and speculate in our newly created Facebook group.

You can find the latest updates and planned events1 on this web page - but keep reading below for some surprises!

We need your input about Nullus Anxietas 7a!

If you have not done so already, please complete our online questionnaire as soon as possible - we very much want to know about your intentions and concerns in coming to the convention in April.

Please take a moment to fill it in, using this link 2. It's anonymous - so not even Lord Vetinari can find out who you are!3 Your answers will keep a benign dictator happy.4

Thank you to all of you who have already completed our online questionnaire. Your help is appreciated.

The Amazing Maurice (and his Educated Rodents)

The Amazing Maurice

As some of you already know, Cantilever Media is making an animated film of Terry Pratchett's The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents. This was Terry's first Discworld novel for young adults5. The film is due for release next year.

One of the producers, Andrew Baker has very kindly agreed to join us for our virtual Hogswatch party to talk about how they came to make the film and maybe share a few snippets from the production. If you have any questions you would like to ask him, then please send them to us through our website here.

You can find out more about The Amazing Maurice on their website.

The Science of Hogswatch

Ian Stewart, Terry Pratchett and Jack Cohen

We will also be joined by Professor Ian Stewart FRS, co-author of The Science of Discworld books. He will be talking about how these books came to be and the partnership between Terry Pratchett, Professor Jack Cohen, and himself. “Working with Terry was like working with a wizard.”

Questions for our guests?

Some of our guest interviews will be pre-recorded. If you have a burning question you would like us to ask, please send us the question through our Contact Us page.

Footnotes:

1 Accuracy of schedule not guaranteed because "things happen!"

2 Or Lord Vetinari will take action. Or hand the task over to the Guild of Fools. This is no laughing matter.

3 Or at least promises not to enquire!

4 Or at least less inclined to throw us to the kittens!

5 In Discworld fandom, "young adults" means up to 100!

6 Yes, that's right. Unseen Theatre Company has been performing Discworld plays for 21 years! It all started back with Mort and Guards! Guards! in the year 2000...
